Moldavia
Projects will start in June-July 2010. Application deadline: 1st April 2010.

1st Project: Ballad of Elderly Hearts
The volunteer will be involved in assistance of elderly persons: socialization, having fun within the Daily Care Center for Elderly “Land of Fairy for Elderly”. Also another volunteer will be involved in supporting and offering homecare assistance for elderly over 62 years. Activities will be part of the work of a multidisciplinary team of the center. Additional tasks will be communication with beneficiaries, fundraising, group sessions.

2nd Project: Anti- trafficking Northern Moldova
The volunteers will make activities for young people in the domain of Prevention of Trafficking in Human Beings. The target group will be young people with fewer opportunities. Work will include: Prevention Campaigns, Workshops on Human Rights, Entrepreneurship Trainings, Assisting Project Staff etc.

3rd Project: Advancing the Human Spirit. Human Services in Moldova
The domain of activity will be social assistance, rehabilitation, reintegration of children and adults with disabilities.The volunteers will promote the principles of social integration of people with intellectual disabilities at the local and national levels. Some activities will be directed towards main target group and to parents, family members, social workers, local public authorities etc.
The volunteers are encouraged to contribute with their ideas and skills and also to make new initiatives within the organization.
The volunteer will benefit of training in a predeparture orientation camp and also language courses (Romanian or Russian) will be provided for free. There's a growing number of foreign volunteers in Moldova at the moment and you will get the chance to meet many of them and have fun together.
Polonia
Association of Independent Initiatives Mikuszewo (Poland) is looking for EVS volunteers for the following projects for April 2010 deadline:
1. Kindergarten ‘Koszalek Opalek’ (EI 2009-PL-30)
Project duration: October – June (9 months)
Tasks of the two volunteers:
- taking care of children together with the assigned group teacher;
- making teaching aids;
- helping to improve room aesthetics (e.g. decorating rooms or corridors);
- helping to create our thematic brochures;
- carrying out fun activities (motor and thematic) in the volunteer's native language;
- helping in organising school celebrations for children, their parents and the local community;
- taking part in and helping to organize outings and walks;
- organising sport activities for children (indoor and outdoor);
- helping in the routine cleaning activities, meal preparation and serving or feeding poor eaters.

2. Active Therapy Workshop – a daily care center for disabled adults (EI 2009-PL-7)
Project duration: August – June (11 months)
Two volunteers work with disabled persons under supervision of a therapist, in the following studios: household, music, arts, computer, carpentry & metalwork, horticulture & nature.
As part of their participation in activities of a given studio our volunteers:
- take care of handicapped persons, particular those with mobility impairments;
- assist therapists in preparing materials for any given activity;
- take part in participants' work;
- take part in therapeutic activities organised for the disabled outside of the studios and the Workshop;
- help organise and carry out ATW events;
- help establish contacts with a rehabilitation institution from the volunteer's home country;
- prepare information about the Active Therapy Workshop in the volunteers' native language;
- prepare activities for ATW participants using elements of the volunteer's native cultural background.

3. Kindergarten ‘Bajkowy Świat’ (2009-PL-6)
Project duration: October – June (9 months)
Tasks of the volunteers:
- taking care of children in cooperation/ assistance of the teacher;
- participating in the parties, festivals, celebrations organised by the kindergarten;
- helping in the preparation of the decoration for celebrations;
- helping in the preparation season wish cards, invitations, gifts for the guests invited to our kindergarten;
- helping in the preparation of the children's art works with the teachers for Christmas and Easter fair;
- helping in the preparation of children's costumes for kindergarten's celebrations;
- making simple didactic aids under the assistance of a teacher;
- making class wall exhibitions for particular groups on the theme previously discussed with a teacher;
- helping in the decoration of children's rooms in the kindergarten.

Help at Home in Velo 2007-gr-33

The target group of our program is the elderly people with special needs who need help, have problem with their health, with the physical condition of their body, who can’t do the everyday living activities by themselves (cooking, cleaning, washing, shopping, etc.). The volunteers can help us to be able to give help more elderly people, they will participate in visiting and helping in the elderly people’s homes, taking care of them, paying attention, helping in the assistants’ work (bring the medicines, the food, they can clean the house, cook for them, pay the bills etc.), furthermore the volunteers help in the centre of elderly.

Informative activities and equal opportunities 2007-GR-15
Activity start: 05th September, 2010
This project takes place in the youth information offices of the organization in Xylokastro, Vocha, Velo and Assos-Leheio municipalities.
Through these offices we want to show the possibilities to the young people of the region age between 16-30 Volunteer’s activities: The activities include working in the information offices, carrying out projects such as seminars, youth exchanges…etc. The volunteers participate in the presentations in the schools, promoting the activities of the Information offices. They will also help in the preparation of the local youngsters that participate in EVS. The volunteers will help to develop the webpage of the organization by filling up with new information, photos, announcements…etc. They will also make researches for organizations, institutes from the European countries, becoming the contact person of Orfeas, sending them information, news and propositions for future plans.

Musical instruments laboratory 2007-GR-15
starting date: 5th July, duration: 4 weeks

In the project the volunteers will participate actively in the building and reconstruction of traditional and modern musical instruments, creation of a step-by-step guide with photographs and text concerning the building and conservation of traditional musical instruments, developing presentations through the computer (Power Point) about the building of the musical instruments and the activities of the host organization, organize exhibitions with the musical instruments, which are made through the voluntary work and presentations about the European voluntary work, promotion of the European Voluntary Service in the local schools.

Youth together for the forest of Xylokastro 2007-gr-17

We would like to host EVS volunteers to support and help in the everyday work of the environmental program of the municipality of Xilokastro. This includes helping to protect the forest of Xilokastro, protect the coast, planting new trees, they will help making new and repairing the old footpath, benches, tables, wooden and metal fences in the forest, making researches about new and different methods about how to protect the nature.
